The 70ha park of the Preisch estate holds many mysteries: an enchanted forest of about twenty hectares and bicentenary trees surrounding the ruins of a fortified castle with its double moat. Large fields form the junction between the two and host a flock of Hampshire sheep, as well as our farm animals.

It is in this unique setting that we offer many outdoor activities, for all ages and for all tastes.

IN SEARCH OF THE MYSTERY TREE

A 200-year-old tree is hidden in the park. Yes, you read it right. Despite its imposing size and funny looks, no one notices it!

It is not the plane tree, the magnolia or the tulip tree… But then, what is its name? And above all, what is its secret?

The other bicentenary trees will help you in your research thanks to poems dedicated to them and the shape of their leaf, all indicated on monuments scattered in the park.

Whether you are a botany lover or not, 7 or 77 years old, this nature survey will allow you to discover the park’s remarkable trees while having fun. From the shape of the leaves, find the poems and the names of the trees that correspond, using an arboretum. A booklet is provided to record the indices…

So, ready to crack the secret of the mystery tree? A surprise awaits you at the finish!

NATURE TRAIL IN THE PARK

The ideal outdoor activity to have fun with the family while rediscovering biodiversity in a playful way. Are you ready to take on fifteen or so challenges scattered throughout the park? The themes are varied for everyone’s enjoyment and the challenges are accessible even to the very young! For example, teach your child to familiarize himself with the vegetables and fruits of the garden by putting them in the right boxes, accompany him in the dance of the tree to better understand its life cycle, or even what the water cycle is by answering a real or fake funny question! All this in the heart of the park and next to the farm animals. Besides, our rabbits are eager to see if you will succeed in their challenges…

With a map in hand, let’s go in the park to find the markers and take up the challenges!

TREASURE HUNT: THE HOLY FLOWER OF PREISCH’ FAIRIES

Fairies are not a legend in Preisch. They have always lived under the mossy stones of the forest. But no one has seen them for a long time. These little magical beings, boy or girl, with green skin and silver wings are the protectors of the Preisch forest and its river branch.

Compass in hand, and clues to find, let’s go on a treasure hunt! We are waiting for young and old to help us find the sacred flower which alone has the power to bring the fairies back to Preisch…

Whoever finds the flower will be rewarded.

This treasure hunt is suitable for young and old children, and adults will be surprised by the pleasure they will take in solving the riddles.

The treasure hunt allows you to draw attention to small details that would go unnoticed during a free visit of the park. Come and enjoy a pleasant afternoon with your family or friends at the castle!

ANIMAL PRINTS TREASURE HUNT

Go for a walk in the fields and woods of Preisch under the curious eyes of our friends squirrels, deer and other animals. The goal? To find the footprints scattered in the park with the help of a GPS. You will then obtain the secret code that opens a treasure chest…

So open your eyes and let the hunt begin!

This hunt for footprints is suitable for young and old alike and will not fail to arouse the interest of adults in the fauna that populates our woods and forests.

10 GIANT WOODEN GAMES

In the former vegetable garden of the castle, discover 10 large wooden games. Made by a local craftsman, their principles are well known (power 4 or Tetris) or more innovative. Accessible to the general public during the opening weekends, these games can be made available to day care centers or schools for a fun afternoon after a morning of visits.

Small groups of children can be placed on the different games with a rotation system so that all can enjoy and have fun, a good learning of sharing and playing in community.
